How It Happened
In game1 of the La Roche doubleheader, the Barons had a good start to the game. McDaniels had a lead off single and Cook sent her home in the following at bat with a double to left center. That lead was short. The La Roche Redhawks tallied three hits, but scored five runs off Franciscan errors and walks.Â
For th next four innings the Barons only allowed one more run from the Redhawks, and made a charge to close the gap in the top of the 5th scoring three runs. Winner led the inning off with a single then stole second. Davis was walked, then both Baron baserunners advanced into scoring position off a wild pitch. McDaniels sent Winner home and Davis scored off an error.Â
Going into the top of the 6th the Barons trailed 4-6. After being blanked in the top half of the inning, they allowed seven runs from the Redhawks ending the game mid-inning after the Redhawks Fitterer' tripled to right.Â
