How It Happened
The Barons hosted the Waynesburg University Yellow Jackets tonight for the PAC Quarterfinals. This matchup was a #4 vs #5 seed game. The ball didn't fall for the Barons and they fell to Yellow Jackets 0-1.
These teams just met less than two weeks ago. The Barons grabbed the road win and were looking to repeat that success at home. They played an incredible game with strong possession control and numerous high-quality chances. The difference in tonight's game was their chances weren't falling and the Yellow Jackets snuck one on a breakaway. After the game, coach Miller said he was proud of the performance and that game could have easily been a 2-0 win for them. In poker you get to ask to run it multiple times, and if that were an option for this the Barons would likely get that win more times than not, but tonight wasn't one of those nights.
They had an incredible season and played some of their best ball tonight. Hopefully they earn a bid to the ECAC and continue this level of play into that tournament.
