The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced the cross country weekly awards on Tuesday afternoon, and Franciscan once again had three athletes honored: freshman
Cooper Valancius (Perry Hall, Md. / Homeschooled), freshman
Hannah Sheets (Corning, Ohio / Crooksville), and sophomore Maxwell Bruns (Gilbert, Ariz. / Areta Prep). Sheets and Valancius were named Newcomers of the Week, while Bruns was named the PAC Runner of the Week.
Valancius posted an 8K time of 26:46.3 at the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic Saturday morning. That time was good to place 75th overall and fifth among Division III freshmen. For Sheets, she was the second fastest for Franciscan at the Louisville meet
with a 6k time of 24:07.9. It was a new personal record for her, and she was 48th overall out of 204 runners and second among Division III freshmen in the race. Bruns was the top Baron to cross at the same meet, as his 8K time of 26:34.4 placed 59th overall and 16th among Division III competitors in the meet.
The Barons will next race on Saturday, October 17th, competing at the Oberlin InterRegional Rumble.
