How It Happened
For Kuzma Day this year, the Barons welcomed the Hiram Terriers to Steubenville for the first time as a conference opponent. With
Anthony Covetta leading the way with 18 points, the Barons continue to have success against the PAC North teams.
The Barons jumped to a very large and early lead. They were up by 19 and looking to extend that lead. The Terriers clawed their way back in the second half, but the Barons held on to a comfortable double digit lead.
The South division is still packed with a three-way tie for second place. The South teams continue to have success against the North teams, which makes the South matchups critical. The Barons will have an opportunity to make a big jump towards sealing second place and maybe sliding into first with an away game against the 1st place W&J Presidents.
Inside the Numbers
- 37 of the Barons points were from the bench
- No Baron played over 30 minutes
- the Barons have secured back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since the early 70's
Up Next
Franciscan heads to Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday for a rematch with the Presidents. The Barons fell to them by four points in overtime in December. Alex Acosta led all scorers with 30 points, and
Sawyer Butler led the Barons with 24 points. This is a pivotal matchup for the Barons to level the season series and not give the Presidents the tiebreaker over them in the PAC South standings.
