How It Happened 
    The Barons and Gators battled in Meadville on Saturday. It was Senior Day for Allegheny, and the home team secured victory after a slow start. Both offenses started slowly in the opening quarter. These teams combined to score just 12 points with a 6-6 score after 10 minutes of play. Offensive production picked up in the second quarter. Six different Barons scored in the first half. Hannah Johnson and Maria McCallen led the way with four points apiece. The Gators were able to hold a six-point lead at halftime. 

    Allegheny made a run in the third quarter. They tallied 24 points without making a three-point field goal in fact, they did not make a three-point field goal in any of the first three quarters of play. In the fourth quarter, the Barons battled hard till the end, but they were not able to take the lead back from the Gators. Melnyk was able to climb into double figures in the scoring column to record another double double. The Barons won the final quarter, but the Gators held on to win by a score of 61-45.

Inside the Numbers 
- Melnyk had 11 points and 13 rebounds.
- 40 of Allegheny's points came in the paint.
- All eight Barons who played today scored at least two points.
