How It Happened
The Barons open up 2026 PAC play with a home doubleheader against the Bethany Bison. Game 1 was an explosion of offense. Coming into the day's contest the Bison averaged only 7 hits per game allowed. The Barons nearly doubled that with 12 team hits. The Bison also tallied up 15 hits of their own. The difference, the Barons were unable to convert nearly as many of those hits into runs as the Bison accumulated a six run lead heading into the 7th inning. The slug-fest that had everyone at the field constantly cheering ended in a score inaccurate to the level of performance the Barons displayed.

How It Happened
Game 2 was a 1-1 tie for four innings. It was just the first inning that sunk the Barons hopes of a PAC win. The Barons gave up 10 and 13 runs in the top of the first. It was a tough start to rally from, but they dug in and played a highly competitive four innings. The offense that we saw in game 1 was stifled by the two Bison pitchers.
The Barons begin the year 0-2 in the PAC and look forward to their next home matchup next week against the Thiel Tomcats
