The Latest
- The Barons hosted Bethany for their first conference games of the season last Saturday.
- The Barons took two losses but were able to battle against the Bison's offense with 15 hits on the day.
- The Bison have previously only allowed seven hits per game in their last 10 matchups but the Barons were able to deliver with 12 hits in the first game.
- Janey Winner and Emma Davis both went 3-for-5 on the day, Elizabeth Forster had two hits with a double, Lorelei Smaciarz went 3-for-6 with one RBI, and Hayley Cook recorded two hits with two  RBIs.

Scouting the Tomcats*
- The Tomcats will battle the Barons after taking on Grove City on Tuesday. 
- The Tomcats recorded five wins and five losses in their Spring Break competition and split one win with Kent State Tuscarawas last Friday.
- The team currently has a collective batting average of .315, with five batters hitting over .350.
- Last season, the Tomcats went 18-18 in their overall record and went 10-10 in the PAC.
- Outfielder Kayley Risser was awarded PAC Honorable Mention last season and now currently leads the Tomcats with her .485 batting average.

Matchup History
- The Barons search for their first win against the Tomcats since 2021.
- During Coach Andi Weaver's senior season, she singled out to right field in the top of the ninth to score the game winning run and beat the Tomcats 1-0.
- In their 2025 matchup, Janey Winner recorded a triple and Elizabeth Maxwell had two RBIs for the Barons in their 6-3 loss.

Tallying Together Twelve Hits
- The Barons strung together 12 hits against the Bison in game one on Saturday.
- Janey Winner went 3-for-4 during the first game with one run for the Barons.
- Emma Davis went 2-for-4, scoring Janey Winner for one RBI and recorded one run.
- Elizabeth Forster added a double to her stats, recording two hits during game one.
- Hayley Cook went 2-for-3 in game one and scored two RBIs and one run for the Barons.
- Lorelei Smaciarz also went 2-for-3 and tallied one RBI. 
- However, the Barons could not bring all their runners home, leaving six on-base during the first game and ultimately losing 10-4.

Smaciarz Shining at the Plate
- Lorelei Smaciarz currently has a five game hitting streak, batting .391 on the season.
- Smaciarz had one hit in the second game against Bethany and was the only run to score during the game.
- Also, Smaciarz had a .440 on-base percentage as well two stolen bases on the season for the Barons.
