How It Happened
The Barons traveled to Latrobe, Pa to take on top ranked Saint Vincent Bearcats. The Barons have had to start their 2026 PAC campaign facing the two top ranked teams and after an 11 point defeat in Latrobe, fall to 0-2 in the PAC.
The hill to climb was in the faceoff circle. The Barons were just 5-25 in the faceoff circle leaving the young defensive core on an island for most of the game. The strength of the Baron squad on the offensive end was left watching for much of the 60 minutes. They did a pretty decent job of the opportunities they created. They turned three of their nine shots on goal into points and were nearly 50% with their SOG%. The offensive onslaught they faced is more than any team can endure and hold defensively. The Bearcats tallied up 72 shots with 41 being on goal. Freshmen keeper John Kirk was extraordinary stopping 22 SOG cracking the top 10 all-time in single game saves.

Inside the Numbers
-Pio Kirk was 50% from the faceoff circle in his few attempts
-Burke led the Barons with two points off one goal and one assist
-the Barons continue to play a clean game halving the number of penalties as their opponents.
