PAC Sports Network Selection Show
Butler led the Barons and the entire PAC in scoring at 21.9 ppg this season, to earn First Team All-PAC honors along with Player of the Year recognition. He scored 20+ points in 15 of the 27 games so far this season, including a program record 49 points at Juniata. Through Championship Saturday, he is one of just four players, in all of NCAA Division III to make 200+ free throws this season, and he shot 84.7% from the charity stripe. On the season, he shot 44.0% from the floor, including 31.9% from beyond the arc. Butler brought it on both ends of the floor while playing 31.6 minutes per game. His 5.7 rebounds per game were second most on the team, and he led the Barons with 67 steals and 60 assists. His 2.5 steals per game led the PAC.
Butler is the first Baron to be named First Team All-Conference in back-to-back seasons. He is also the first Baron to be named Conference Player of the Year. With nine points this weekend, he will become the first Baron in the Division III era to score 600+ points in a season. He would be the first PAC player to score over 600 points, since Lyle Tipton scored 661 in the 2022-23 season.
Coach
Joe Wallace became the first Men's Basketball coach to be named Conference Coach of the Year. Heading into the ECAC Tournament, he has led the Barons to a 21-6 mark. That is by far the most wins by a Barons team in the Division III era, and it is just the 6th 20+ win season going back to 1946 in the College of Steubenville days. In his 10th season at the helm, he has surrounded himself with an amazing staff of coaches as well.
Mike Granato,
Adam Martello,
Aaron Foldi,
John Pizzuti,
Sean Kirk,
Anthony Santangelo,
Nicholas Allienello,
Frank Bellissimo, and Fr. Don Frinsko have all played a crucial role in this team's success.
Oliver played in 25 games, while starting in 20 in his first season in Steubenville. He scored double-digit points in 16 games, including the final two games of the regular season and both PAC Tournament games. His 8.1 rebounds per game and nine double doubles led the PAC this season. The big man also shot 34.8% from beyond the arc while scoring 13.2 ppg.
The PAC also announced its All-Sportsmanship Team.
Malchi Rose-Burton was the Franciscan player named to this exclusive team.
