How It Happened
Franciscan Men's Lacrosse hosted La Roche on Wednesday evening for a non-conference matchup. The Barons continued their success against the Redhawks to pick up their second win of the season. Joseph James continued to set records. In the second quarter, he passed Jonas McCaig to become the program leader in points. James Masso was the story of the opening half with five goals and six assists for double-digit points in the opening thirty minutes. Six different Barons scored in the opening half, as they held a 14-0 lead at halftime.
Masso and James added on to their historic days in the third quarter. James added two more assists to set the program record for assists in a career. He is now the program leader in goals, assists, and points, just five games into his junior season. Masso added three more assists to have nine on the day. That set a new program record for most in a game by a Baron all-time. Mattias Bunai added five goals down the stretch to maintain the shutout, their first shutout since the 2023 season.
