In the bottom of the 9th; Bodie had a lead off double, Hunton was walked, Manocchio singled, and the bases were loaded with only one out.
Colin Killian pinch hit for White he stuck in a long at bat before being walked and earning an RBI. The Barons were now down one and bases still loaded. Schiwall stepped up to the plate. How It Happened
The Barons got behind early dropping two runs in the 2nd and five in the 3rd. Their defense bled a couple more runs each inning before trailing 12-0 heading into the bottom of the 5th. They tacked on two there, but gave up another in the top of the 6th. They were facing a run rule down 10 in the 6th, but they found six runs in the bottom of the inning forcing Grove City to dig into their bullpen searching for an answer to get out of it.
Now down only five runs and three innings left of play, the Barons found new life. Their defense held in the top of the innings, and they had scoring opportunities with runners on base, but were unable to drive home runs and close the gap the way they did in game 1.
The Barons end up splitting with Grove City and improve to 5-9 in the PAC.
