Franciscan women's volleyball kept its win streak going Wednesday night, earning a fourth straight 3-0 sweep, this time against the Pitt Greensburg Bobcats. With the win, the Barons move to 5-3 on the season.
How It Happened
The Barons found themselves in a four point deficit halfway through set one. Down 12-8, multiple kills by
Logan Hickey spurred the team to a 9-3 run to go up 17-15. The hosts then scored three straight, followed by four in a run by the visitors to lead 21-18. After two more points by the hosts, Franciscan scored the final four points in the frame to win 25-20, with the winning point by
Charlotte Strouble.
Set two had the Barons jump out to a 13-6 lead, led by three kills by
Anna Guard. The Bobcats got it to within three at two different times, but Guard continued to rack up points for her squad, including two late kills to get points 24 and 25.
In set three, it was all Franciscan. The visitors jumped out to a 18-4 advantage, with six kills by
Logan Hickey and four kills by Guard in that stretch. The next nine points were pretty evenly split, followed by the visitors scoring the final three points of the match.
Sarah Clyde recorded the game-sealing point with a kill.
Inside the Numbers
- Franciscan had 42 assists, compared to Pitt Greensburg's 28.
- Guard, who had 14 kills and 23 total attacks, recorded a .478 attack percentage.

Reese Anderson led the team in set assists with 19 and 17, respectively.

Franciscan women's volleyball will travel to Messiah University's campus this weekend, playing in three matches over a 24-hour span. Its first game is Friday at 5 PM against Gettysburg.
