How It HappenedÂ
Franciscan women's volleyball was on the road yet again Saturday morning, playing a road match against Otterbein. After three sets, the hosts were able to secure the victory.
In set one, the opening 11 points were split 6-5 in favor of the hosts, before Otterbein took eight of the next nine points. It would eventually end up being a 25-12 opening set victory for the hosts. In set two, the Barons would have multiple small leads, thanks to kills from
Logan Hickey and
Anna Guard. After it was 15-13 Barons, the Cardinals took the lead and never relinquished it, winning the middle set 25-20.
For the final set, the Cardinals built a four point lead early on. The Barons brought it to within one multiple times, but were unable to tie at any point in the set. Otterbein turned a slim 19-18 lead into a 25-19 win to complete the sweep.
Â
Inside the NumbersÂ
- Logan and
Kaitlan Hickey each recorded at least five digs in the game, more than any of their teammates.
- Guard had the second most kills on the team with five.Â
