2023: Appeared and started in 34 games this season, as he had a career high 87 at bats this season ... he batted .356 with five doubles and 13 RBIs ... he scored 11 runs and had the second best OPS (.826) on the team ... He had 11 appearances as a pitcher, including 10 starts ... he started both games of the doubleheader against Westminster ... had a 1-6 record over 53.2 innings of work. led the team with a 5.53 ERA and 41 strikeouts.
2022: Watson appeared in 12 games starting in 11 for a total of 72.1 innings pitched. His pitching record was 5-6 with an ERA of 3.24. Watson had 1 shutout and a team high 54 strikeouts. On 3/13 against Hood, he pitched 7 innings allowing only 2 hits, 0 runs, and striking out 9 batters. Watson also appeared in 7 games at the plate with a batting average of .294. Watson's efforts earned him the PAC Pitcher of the Week on 3/14.
2021: He appeared in nine games this season, including eight starts. The sophomore led the Barons with three complete games. Watson led the Barons with four wins this season and held a team-low 3.64 ERA. His lone relief appearance was a long one, as he provided seven innings in the season finale against Saint Vincent. His last two starts of the regular season were both nine inning complete games. That would give Watson a 0.72 ERA over his last three outings of the season. Watson earned PAC Pitcher of the Week honors once this season for his complete game shutout against Geneva. He struck out a season high seven that night under the lights at Vaccaro Field. Watson walked zero runners in his nine inning complete game against Waynesburg.
2020: Appeared and started in two games as a pitcher for the Barons ... posted a 1-1 record with a 4.38 ERA, second best on the team among qualifying pitchers ... On 3/9 pitched a complete game three hit shutout against Marywood. He struck out seven and walked three in the 3-0 victory ... On 3/14 he went 5.1 innings against Washington College giving up eight runs with six being earned. They earned 11 hits with six being doubles in the Franciscan defeat ... Went 2 for 3 at the plate including a double, RBI and run scored.
Personal: Son of Bryan and Olga...In high school, Jacob was an undefeated pitcher his senior year. His favorite hobbies are hanging with friends, weight-lifting, and playing video games. He chose to Franciscan for the faith aspect, and the chance to play baseball for a great institution. After graduation, he plans on attending graduate school for sports psychology and using all his years of athletic eligibility. St. Sebastian is his patron saint
