2020-21: Ran a season best time of 16:26 at the PAC Championship in the shortened season of all 5K races ... placed in 9th in the season opener at Saint Vincent .... placed 5th in the second meet of the year at Bethany ... earned a 6th place finish at the PAC Championships to help the Barons win the first PAC title of any sport in Franciscan history.

Prior to FUS: In 2019 at Regis University he competed in Cross Country ...  Ran in all seven races … Recorded his best 8-kilometer race in the Sept. 28 Capital Cross Challenge with a time of 27 minutes, 32.5 seconds to finish 158th overall … Finished his season with an 154th-place showing and a time of 36:32.7 in the 10k race of the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Cross Country Championships on Nov. 9 … Made his debut with a 29:26.6 to take 33rd in the 4.97-mile race of the 26th Joe I. Vigil Open XC on Sept. 7.

Personal: Son of Rob and Jane Kaftan ... Transferred to Franciscan for the faith centered education, Theology Program, and closer to hometown ... Upon graduation he plans to pursue career in the medical field as paramedic ... Patron saint is Padre Pio
