Bill DiPiero

DiPiero was announced as the Interim Head Women's Golf Coach before the start of the Spring 2022 season. He dropped the Interim tag for the start of the 2022-23 season.

In the 2023-24 season, the Barons placed 7th of nine teams in the PAC Championship. Molly McLean tied her own program record with an 82 in round three of the PAC Championship at Mill Creek.

The Barons placed seventh of eight teams at the PAC Championship in 2022-23 season. Molly McLean set a new program record for 18 holes (82) and 36 holes (168) at the Spring Championship rounds at Mill Creek.

The Lady Barons finished off round three of the 2021-22 PAC Championship at Cedarbrook Golf Course. Franciscan took home a 6th place finish. Sophomore Gia Hooper earned Honorable Mention recognition, making her the first two-time All-Conference player in school history.

He is set to become the Lady  Barons' second head coach since the program's inception in 2019.

"We are thrilled to have Bill step up as our next golf head coach," said Franciscan Director of Athletics Scott Greve. "He has been associated with the Franciscan family for years and epitomizes our Mission. Bill's service and involvement with our community is invaluable and we are excited that he has decided to take on this role."

With Mitch Morelli being named Sports Information Director last fall, it became evident that we needed to find a new leader for the Golf program. DiPiero has been an assistant for the last two seasons with the golf team, as well as an assistant basketball coach with Franciscan in the past. Morelli will remain on the staff as a Volunteer Assistant Coach.

DiPiero is a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit with a degree in Biology with a minor in Philosophy. He and his wife Terri reside in Steubenville where he owns and operates an IT business.
