• The Short Story: The Barons used a spot-on header from senior Ian Baldau off a corner midway through the first period to carry them to a 2-0 win over Penn State Altoona, Tuesday evening.
 
How it Happened
•  Sophomore Nick Miller put a shot on goal that was deflected by the Lions goalie to set up a corner kick for the Barons. Miller sent the corner kick right in front of Baldau who got his head on it and put the ball in between a defender and the goalie for the 1-0 lead in the 19^th minute.
• Just over two minutes later, junior keeper Brian Gaughan made his second save of the game to keep the lead. Gaughan made his third of the night in the 40^th minute as Franciscan carried the 1-0 win into the break.
• Franciscan got a pair of corners in the first two and a half minutes of the second half but couldn't get a shot off.
• in the 50^th minute, junior Sebastian Koehler got tripped up and fouled inside the 18-yard box and the Barons were awarded their third penalty kick of the season. Miller buried the shot into the back left corner to give Franciscan a 2-0 lead.
• Gaughan made his final save of the game with 2:33 left to preserve his sixth shutout of the season.

• Gaughan posted five saves in his sixth shutout of the season and has tied his record for most shutouts in a season for a Franciscan keeper.
• Miller and Koehler led the Barons with seven shots a piece while Miller scored his eighth goal of the year.
• Baldau's goal in the 19^th minute marked his first game-winning goal of the season and the fifth of his career, moving into sole possession of second all-time at Franciscan.
