Barons to Host Wolverines Wednesday Night

STEUBENVILLE, OH- The Barons enter this game coming off a heartbreaking loss to Washington and Jefferson on the 8th of November and also falling in an exhibition to D2 Walsh. In the early going Sean Hickey and Drazen Frankovitch have led the way offensively for the Barons.

All-Time Series Against Grove City
  • Franciscan is 0-8 all-time including two losses last season including our season ending loss in the ECAC Tournament.
  • In last years season ending 60-73  loss, returner Nate Peters, dropped a career high 29 points of the bench, and returner James Wells had five blocks to set the GCC season record.
  • In their earlier matchup last season, Grove City prevailed with a 64-42 victory. James Wells had a big night offensively by scoring 21 points. Matt Trent scored 12 for the Barons to led the way 


Scouting Franciscan
  • Franciscan is coming off a 13-14 season last season and an AMCC tournament appearance. The Barons were selected 4th in the AMCC preseason Coach's poll
  • Franciscan returns their Top 3 leading scorers from last season: Sean Hickey 15.0 ppg, Matt Trent 12.8 ppg and Joe Schriner 10.1 ppg.
  • The Barons fell to Walsh last Tuesday in an exhibition 110-52, newcomer Drazen Frankovitch led the way with 17 points.

Scouting Grove City
  • Grove City is coming to game playing a few more games then the Barons as they stand at 0-3 in the early season including a loss to AMCC foe Hilbert.
  • Grove City has a lot of familiar faces to last season as they return four out of five starters and Nate Peters who averaged over 10 points a game off the bench.
  • In three games, Nate Peters is leading the way for the Wolverines by averaging 20.3 points per game. Fellow senior James Wells is averaging 12.3 ppg, 8.0 rpg and two blocks per game as well.
