Men's Tennis Draws John Carroll in NCAA Tournament

STEUBENVILLE – After winning their seventh-straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference title, the Franciscan men's tennis team is headed to the NCAA Tournament once again. The Barons will travel to Baltimore, MD to John Carroll in the opening round.

Franciscan once again posted a perfect regular season in the AMCC and earned the top seed in the conference tournament. The Barons captured their seventh-straight crown after defeating Mount Aloysius 5-2 in the championship match. Following the tournament, the Barons earned nine spots on the All-AMCC teams.
 
The Barons are currently 10-12 on the year and will take on John Carroll in the first-round game. The weekend's matches will be hosted by Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Md. It is the second time the Barons will head to Baltimore for the tournament.
 
Franciscan and John Carroll are no strangers in the tournament as they faced each other in 2015. JC won the meeting 5-1 in Gambier, Ohio.
 
John Carroll enters the tournament as the winners of the Ohio Athletic Conference and are 9-9 on the year.
 
The winner of the John Carroll/Franciscan match will take on Wesleyan (CT) on Saturday, May 11. Wesleyan earned a first-round bye as did Kenyon. Johns Hopkins will take on Washington & Jefferson in the other first-round match.
