BETHANY, WV – The Franciscan volleyball team posted an incredible comeback to take a 3-1 win over Bethany, Wednesday evening.

The Short Story: After dropping the first set 25-6, the Lady Barons rebounded for three-straight set wins by scores of 33-31, 25-19, 25-22
How it Happened
• Franciscan had set-point in the second set three different times before finally putting the Bison away 33-31 thanks to two unforced Bethany errors.
• The third set played just as tight as the second until Franciscan jumped out to a 23-18 lead behind
Caite O'Malley's serving. A kill from
Renee Antonelli and a Bison attack error gave Franciscan a 25-19 win and a 2-1 lead in the match.
• Franciscan took a 15-9 lead over Bethany to begin the fourth set before the Bison chipped away to cut the deficit to 15-13.
• After Bethany got the set to within two again, 24-22, Franciscan clinched the set and match win thanks to another unforced Bethany error.

Meghan Bayer led the Lady Barons with 17 kills while hitting at a .279 clip.
•
Sydney Riley dished out 14 assists while
Emily Nutter had 10.

Lauren Betar had 13 digs for the day and Marykate Taylor finished the day with 12 digs and two service aces.

• Franciscan returns home this Saturday as the Lady Barons host La Roche in their annual Dig Pink Game. The Dig Pink day will get started with a pair of high school matches at 3pm prior to the Lady Barons match at 5pm.
