How it Happened
- Andrew Salasek earned his first start of the season, and he did not take long to make an impact, as he made the first bucket of the game. Travis Lien, Sean Hickey and Joe Schriner each made threes in the slow back and forth early going, as the Barons would hold a 15-11 lead with 10:40 to play in the half. The Lions would battle back to take the lead, but Drazen Frankovitch would add a pair of buckets to reclaim the lead. Lien would score five points in the final minute and a half, to take a five point lead into the break.
- Kenny Fukon his first shot of the second half, as he would be the Lion's offensive go to guy all night. Matt Trent responded making a pair of layups, as he was just warming up. The Barons would have a seven point lead at 41-34 with 12:55 left to play. A 9-2 Lion run, would tie it up for the first time this half. The Lions would actual go ahead five as high as five points with 5:53 to play. Frankovitch would convert another jumper with just under three minutes to play to give the Barons the lead once more at 52-51. Fukon drew a foul, and it looked that the Lions would take the lead with a little over a minute to play, but Fukon missed the first and made the second to tie it up at 52-52. John Noce would end up with a crucial steal, as the Barons would have the ball at the coach's line coming out of a timeout with 13 seconds left. They went to their captain Matt Trent, as he made a move to the middle off the left block giving him an open jumper that he buried for the win.
