How It Happened 
The Lady Barons were unable to get the offense going tonight, as Grove City would sweep them in three sets. Renee Antonelli added another double digit kill game with 13 on the night.

The Lady Barons were able to jump out to a 2-1 lead in set one, as Renee Antonelli picked up a pair of kills. Unfortunately it would be all Wolverines from there, as they would go on a 8-0 run. Franciscan would finally break up the run. Brynn Jacobson and Maria Bosco would add their first kills to tighten it up at 12-6. The Wolverines would run the lead up to a ten point margin at 20-10. Caitlin O'Malley would add her first kill of the night to start a small comeback, but the Wolverines were too much. Grove City won 25-13.

Grove City jumped out to a 5-2 lead in set number two. Franciscan would tighten this set up, as Antonelli and Jacobson added kills to set the score at 7-5. Grove City would respond with a 4-0 run to retake a stronger lead. Then Maria Bosco had a great run of her own with two strong kills to pull within four points. Grove City would be the first to 15, as they led 15-10. They would go on to control the rest of the set, as they won 25-15. 

Emily Nutter and Renee Antonelli started off set number three with kills to give Franciscan a 2-0 lead. After a Grove City run, Emily Nutter would help Franciscan regain the lead with an ace, which set the score at 5-4. This set would be much more evenly contested with numerous long rallies and hard fought points. Grove City slowly built their lead up to 19-13. Franciscan would be able to cut into the lead with kills by Marianna Ridenour and Emily Nutter. Grove City would respond with a 5-1 run to close out the third set by a score of 25-17. 

Inside the Numbers 
- Antonelli led Franciscan with 13 kills.
- Sara Moore was the lone Lady Barons with double digit digs, as she had 12.
- Emily Nutter had 20 assists in the three set match
- Nutter had the lone ace for Franciscan ; Grove City had seven aces on the night.
- Grove City had a .326 kill percentage as a team over the three sets.

Who's Next? 
Franciscan will travel to Saint Vincent on Thursday evening for their second matchup of the year against the Bearcats. Saint Vincent swept Franciscan 3-0 in Steubenville earlier this season. The Bearcats held a .281 kill percentage on the day, as Franciscan was no able to defend their attacks well enough to win. Franciscan hopes they can repeat their performance from last season, when they were able to defeat the Bearcats in five sets.
