How It Happened
Franciscan Men's Soccer goes on the road and takes down the Bethany Bison 4-2. The first half was full of action, starting with a goal by Bethany's Faye in the seventh minute. After an offside call on Bethany, Liam Nagle grabbed a goal, assisted by Sebastian Koehler. Franciscan would grab three more goals before halftime. One goal by Mikey Irvin off a pass from Joseph St. George. A second goal solo goal from the freshmen Ryan Miller. The last goal before halftime was another solo goal from the other talented freshmen Jonathan Schriner. The Barons would go into halftime leading 4-1.
Shortly after the halftime break, Bethany would get another goal to bring the score to 4-2. Bethany mustered as many chances as they could, registering 6 more shots before the end of the game, but the Barons defense held. We had two yellow cards as each team fought hard to retain control. One yellow card on Bethany's Gionchetti, and one yellow card on Jonathan Schriner. Barons won the road game 4-2. Coach Ridenour had this to say regarding his guys efforts, "I'm really proud of our team effort today. Bethany is a very dangerous side and after going down 1, we were able to finish the first half strong and put the game out of reach."
