How It HappenedÂ
The Lady Barons traveled to New Wilmington to take on the top ranked Titans, and Westminster would come out on top for their 11th straight win.
The Lady Barons started out set one on a 5-2 run with kills from Renee Antonelli, Maria Bosco and Brynn Jacobson. Westminster would respond with a 5-0 run to retake the lead at 7-5. Emily Nutter and Renee Antonelli added kills in a Franciscan 4-0 run to tighten it up, but Westminster would respond with a 5-0 run of their own to take a firm control of this set. Antonelli would added two more kills and an ace to fight back into the set, but Westminster would close it out 25-17.
Westminster would keep up their momentum, as they started off set number two with a 7-1 run. Maria Bosco would add a couple of kills, and Emma McDonald added an ace. Then the Titans would go on a 9-0 run to put this set out of hand. The Titans won 25-9.
A back and forth start to set number three set the score at 2-2. After a Westminster 3-0 run, Franciscan responded with a 4-0 run of their own. Caitlin O'Malley and Lucy Pridemore would addd a couple of kills to help keep this one close for Franciscan. Westminster then would go on an 11-0 run that seemed to end the set, but Franciscan would not quit. Jacobson and Nutter each added a pair of kills to help stop the run. Antonelli would do her best to tighten it up as well will three straight kills, and the Lady Barons would pull to within one at 24-23.
