Race Highlights
Franciscan Cross Country made their second trip to Louisville this season on Saturday, but this time was for the NCAA National Championship. Earlier this season Franciscan competed in the Live in Lou Classic. In that race
Alison Bryant placed 14th with a time of 22:45.3 on the same course that he would run on for the Championship today. Bryant started in the 44th box of 50 today in her first NCAA Championship appearance.Â
She was able to get off to a strong in the crowded start, as she had a strong 1K time of 3:40.7. At the halfway point, she was in the top 50 with a fast 3K time of 10:46.7. She finished the home stretch very well, by passing numerous runners to finish 75th in the nation in the 293 runner field.
Winning the team title was John Hopkins, who repeated from 2019. Kassie Rosenbum of Loras won the individual title in wire to wire fashion, as she beat the field by 17.5 seconds.Â
