How It Happened
The Baron bounced back from their game one defeat, winning a nine inning pitcher duel behind starter Lily Wahl.
Wahl was in command in the circle, spreading nine hits across nine innings of action while striking out six Tomcats. The Barons offense would struggle to find its footing being held two hits through the first eight innings. Neither team could plate a run, sending the game into extra innings. The Barons would put the offense together in the top of the ninth inning.
Rachel Cooper smacked a double down the left line, putting a runner in scoring position.
Andi Queen then hit a single past the first baseman into right field, scoring Cooper to put the Barons ahead 1-0. One run would be plenty for Wahl, who after allow a couple of hits, recorded a strikeout to seal the victory for the Barons.
