Short Story:Â Franciscan placed 12th in the National Catholic Championship on the campus of Notre Dame
Race Highlights
The Franciscan Women's Cross Country team competed in the National Catholic Championship on Friday afternoon. The Barons placed 12th in the 15 team field of teams from all levels from NAIA to NCAA Division I.
Alison Bryant led the way for Franciscan with a 55th place finish in the 5k race. Fellow senior
Ashlin LaFond was just 13 second behind Bryant, as she placed 62nd in the 171 runner field.
Jessica Campbell was the next to cross for Franciscan, as she completed the race in just over 21 minutes. Senior
Elizabeth Atkins placed 96th, as she was running right in the middle of the contested field.
Allison Sommer was the fifth Franciscan runner to cross the finish line. That would give Franciscan a team score of 324 points.
