Race Highlights
Franciscan Men's Cross Country made the trip to Oberlin on Saturday morning to compete on the cold and blustery day. The Barons were led by
Miguel Daez, the reigning PAC Runner of the Week, who placed 30th in the field of 299 runners. He had a great start, that put him in the lead at the first checkpoint, but then settled into his pace en route to placing 30th.
Danny Donovan and
Conal Delaney each placed in the top 100, by placing 69th and 81st.
George Kaftan and
Nathaniel Tokarsky rounded out the top five to give the Barons 375 points.Â
Carnegie Mellon would take home the team title, as they had all seven runners place in the top 15. The Barons had the best finish of all the PAC schools in attendance. Washington & Jefferson placed 13th, Geneva 15th, Saint Vincent 16th, and Chatham placed 32nd.Â

Franciscan will now have a couple of weeks to finish preparations to defend their PAC Championship. It will be ran at Saint Vincent on October 29th. The host Bearcats were selected as the favorites to win this year's championship in the 2022 PAC Coaches' Poll, but this has a ll the workings of being a very close fought championships with many talented teams developing in the conference.Â
