Short Story: For the third straight season, a Franciscan runner won the PAC Championship, as Claire Walters led the way.

Race Highlights
The Franciscan Women's Cross Country team traveled to Saint Vincent for the second time in the 2022 season on Saturday for the PAC Championship. Claire Walters secured her second individual win of the season with a time of 22:00.6 to win the six kilometer race. She beat the other 106 runners in the field by more than 37 seconds. Next to finish for the Barons was sophomore, Rachel Hurley, who placed 21st. Jessica Campbell was not too far behind Hurley, as she placed 28th with a time of 24:44.10. Completing the top five finishers for Franciscan were Angelina Toole and Clara Gross, who finished 63rd and 64th. 

The Barons placed 5th out of 11 schools with 144 team points. Allegheny would come out on top, as predicted by the PAC Coaches in their Preseason Poll. The Gators had just 41 team points, as they had four runners place in the top ten.

Up Next
Franciscan will focus their efforts to the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on November 12th in Holland, Michigan. Last season, Alison Bryant placed 9th to earn All-Region Honors and a spot in the NCAA National Championship. As a team they placed 17th, for their second best finish in program history.
