How It HappenedÂ
Juliana Rubino was the first to strike pay dirt midway through the first half. This goal is her 10th goal of the season and brings her to 3rd overall in goals scored in the PAC this season surpassing Chatham's Anderson. The remainder of the first half was all Barons. Our Barons led the half in shots with a margin of 12-4 and high percentage scoring chances like corner kicks 5-1. Going into halftime they led 1-0.
The second half was a much closer. Bethany kept pace with the Barons in shooting with a slight nod to the Barons of 8-6. Bethany tied it up shortly after the start of the second half, but Tania Davidson fired right back just a few moments later scoring her 11th of the season and holding her spot atop the PAC in goals scored. As the game wore on Bethany found their stride and controlled the ball through the midfield. From the 72nd minute on, Bethany continually pressured the Baron defense. Eventually one fell, and they tied the score up with only 2 minutes remaining in play. Tania managed to get a great look with under a minute remaining. She couldn't get her full foot on it and the goalkeeper corralled the ball off the ground in the center of the net. The game ended in a 2-2 tie. This is the first tie for the Barons this season.
