How It Happened
Kimberly McDaniels lead Franciscan off at the top of the batting order. In her first at bat, McDaniels crushed it over the head of the left fielder and raced to second base. With Jenny Massey at bat, McDaniels advanced to third off a wild pitch. Massey walked to first base. Elizabeth Gibson was third in the order, and she was walked as well. The bases were loaded, with Chloe Cross the 4th hitter at the plate. Worcester State coach made a quick pitching change to help the team out of the inning. With little warm up time, the relief pitcher immediately walked Cross. This earned Cross an RBI for advancing McDaniels to home. Ariana Arnone hit a single to left field. This scored Massey and kept the bases loaded. Rachel Cooper hit another deep ball at the left fielder. Cooper stopped at first, but she earned 2 RBI's as Gibson scored from third, and Cross ran in from second. Franciscan made it through their entire batting order in the first inning and scored 4 runs. In the bottom of the 1st, Lily Wahl forced a quick three and out. This gave Franciscan their largest lead of the season. In the 2nd inning, Kimberly McDaniels went back to the winning recipe from last inning, hitting a double deep into left field. This time Worcester held on and left McDaniels on base to close the inning. Franciscan held at 4 runs until the 6th inning. Rachel Cooper hit a single to third base, then while Miller was at bat stole second base. Brooklynn Miller hit a single to right field advancing Cooper to third base. With Lily Wahl at bat, the catcher was slow to coral a pitch and throw it back to the pitcher. Brooklynn Miller took the opportunity to steal second. The catcher threw it to second while Rachel Cooper was standing on third in scoring position. While the ball was in flight, Cooper stole home, and Worcester was unable to pick off Miller at second. This run put Franciscan up 5-2, and the defense would hang on to that lead for the last two innings.

How It Happened
Franciscan just finished their prior game on a different field and rushed over to a Greenville team waiting to start. Kimberly McDaniels pitched today's second game, and had very little time to warm up or get ready. McDaniels had a slow start in the circle, getting behind early. However, after re-focusing her pitching and getting a little help from her teammates, Franciscan got out of the 1st inning giving up 2 runs and leaving a runner in scoring position on base. The middle of Greenville's batting order was locked in today. In the 2nd inning they registered 4 hits and 3 runs. Greenville retired the 2nd inning with a strikeout and leading 5-0. Franciscan defense hunkered down and held the lead to 5 for 4 innings, giving their offense a chance to close the gap. In the middle stretch both teams struggled to find hits, and Franciscan didn't get a run until the bottom of the 6th. Kimberly McDaniels hit a line drive deep down the 3rd base line into left field and made it around to second base. Jenny Massey grounded out, but advanced McDaniels to third. Elizabeth Gibson hit a great ball deep to center field, sending McDaniels home and earning Gibson an RBI. However, the center fielder was able to make the play and keep Gibson off base. In the 7th, an early error put Franciscan in a bad spot, and Greenville capitalized on it. They scored 6 runs off 6 hits. Greenville held on to their lead to close the 7th, and won 11-1.
