How It Happened 
    The Barons celebrated Annie King, Grace Deegan, Margaret McKee, Drane Perpepaj, Elizabeth Dudas, and Margaret Gorman today for senior day. Today's game was an important game for playoff seeding and the seniors came out in glorious fashion. Grace Deegan scored the first goal of the game three minutes into the game. Chatham took a brief lead scoring back-to-back goals going up 2-1. Grace Deegan and Riley O'Brien answered and gave Franciscan the lead back. Deegan's second goal gave her the title of the greatest goal scorer in Franciscan history. Grace Deegan scored a hat trick in the 1st quarter to round out scoring. At the end of the 1st quarter the score was tied 4-4.
    The Barons broke out in the 2nd quarter scoring 6 goals and allowing 0. Rose Kane tallied 4 great saves to hold Chatham to 4. Grace Deegan scored another hat-trick in the second quarter bringing her game total to 6. Joanna Hilkert added two goals and Riley O'Brien scored her 20th goal of the season to round out the onslaught of Franciscan goal scoring. At halftime the score was 10-4.
    In the 3rd quarter, Chatham adjustments brought them much needed offense, but Franciscan kept pace. Joanna Hilkert added 3 more goals to her game total, Freshmen Katheryn Brehm scored her 13th goal of her career, and Grace Deegan added her 7th goal of the game to end scoring in the 3rd quarter. Deegan's 7th goal ties her for Going into the final quarter the score was 15-8.
    For the second time this game the Baron defense of Ashley Morrisey, Margaret McKee, Mary Bohli, Drane Perpepaj, Theresa Lyle, and Rose Kane stood tall and held Chatham scoreless. Annie King got involved in the scoring grabbing her 33rd goal of the season. Joanna Hilkert rounded out scoring with her 6th goal. The final score was 17-8, and with the win Franciscan should move into 3rd place.

Inside the Numbers 
-Joanna Hilkert had a career best 6 goals
-Deegan's 7 goal game is the seventh time in her career she has scored that many, and is one goal off her program record 8.
-Deegan scored 10 points tying her program record for points in a game.
-The Barons grabbed 20 ground balls and caused 21 turnovers
-Rose Kane registered 9 saves.

Who's Next? 
Franciscan will conclude their regular season at Bethany on Wednesday night. The Lady Barons are 2-0 all-time against the Bison with a pair of PAC wins. Franciscan is in need of a win in order to keep their hopes of postseason play alive, as the top four teams in the PAC make the PAC Torunament.

Franciscan University Athletics is partnering with Steubenville Conferences to offer summer sports camps in conjunction with the Steubenville Main Campus 1 (June 9-12th, 2022) and 3 (June 23-26th, 2022). Youth Conferences. Participants will be able to strengthen both their athletic skills and their relationship with Christ in this uniquely Franciscan hybrid experience.
