How It HappenedÂ
The Barons extend their win streak to four with a win against former AMCC opponent Pitt-Bradford. It only took a minute for the Barons to get on the board. Jonathan Schriner beat an opponent then bounced one across the net to Mikey Irvin. Irvin easily punched it past the goalkeeper giving an early lead. In the 11th minute, freshmen Zachary Muldoon hit a bomb from 25 yds out to beat the goalkeeper top right. Mikey Irvin added another goal off a Nick Cross assist to go up 3-0. Bradford committed a penalty inside the box and Nick Miller took the PK. Miller faked left then drilled the ball right to beat the goalkeeper and put the Barons up 4. The final goal of the half was one for the highlight reel. Freshmen Augustine Rubino took a lead pass from Jonathan Schriner and dribbled left then back right to confuse and beat his defender. The defender lost his footing and Rubino had a free shot at the goal. He took advantage of the opportunity and scored the first goal of his collegiate career and putting the Barons up 5-0.
During the 53rd minute in the second half, Bradford was awarded a free kick just outside of the box. Liam Nagle strongly disagreed with the call and play stopped for a moment as he pleaded his case to the official. To no avail, Bradford took the free kick which bounced off a couple Barons before a Panther sneaked one past Mautone. The Barons regrouped and quickly answered with Mikey Irvin's 2nd goal of the game from a Zachary Muldoon pass. The Barons brought in many newcomers and freshmen to get some time on the field. Freshmen Benjamin James impressed with his speed and tenacity. The last goal of the night was a wide open shot for Mikey Irvin. Irvin completing his hat-trick put the Barons up 7-1. Bradford played a close match versus Muskingum at Trinity Health System field just the night prior. The men were exhausted at this point and couldn't find the energy to make a run and get out of the defensive end. The Barons went on to win 7-1 and extend their winning streak to four and increasing the quality of what is the greatest start to a season by any Baron Men's Soccer team.
Inside the Numbers Â
-Mikey Irvin scored the second hat trick of his career and matching his goal total last year just today
-Zachary Muldoon was second in scoring behind Irvin with 2 G and 2 A
-Jonathan Schriner had 2 assists
-Nick Miller added a goal and an assist

Who's Next?Â
Franciscan will host Marietta on Wednesday night at Trinity Health System Field. The Barons are 0-3 all-time against the Pioneers, including a loss to them last season. Marietta ended up 7-7-4 last season, as they made it to the Ohio Athletic Conference Quarterfinals. They are off to a good start in non-conference play this season, so it should be a very tough test for the Barons.Â
