How It Happened
Tonight the Barons traveled to face the LaRoche Redhawks. The Barons shut the Redhawks out only letting goalkeeper Rebekka Dill see 1 SOG. Juliana Rubino was on fire in the Barons last game. Today, older sister Bella Rubino had the first hot foot and kicked the scoring off with a goal in the 13th minute. The assist came from none other than Juliana. Bella creates havoc for opponents in the midfield. Her excellent dribbling capabilities keep defenders busy and frees up her teammates to get open lanes. It's nice to see her hard work pay off with a tally in the goal column. This marks her second goal of the season and puts right on pace to tie her 6 goal season last year. The remainder of the first half was all Barons. They took 7 more shots before the end of the half, but the Redhawks held on to go into the break down 1-0.
Shortly after the start of play in the second half, Gabriella De La Torre was awarded a penalty kick after a Redhawk foul in the box. De La Torre's shot was saved but knocked out of bounds giving the Barons a corner kick. Tania Davidson gathered the cross off the corner from Angela Postage and found the back of the net. Davidson nodded one more goal in the final two minutes to bring the score to 3-0.

Inside the Numbers
-Goalkeeper Rebekka Dill has recorded 3 shutouts in a row
-Tania Davidson has 7 goals on the season
-Corinne Sanborn's assist brings her season point total to 5
-Angela Postage brings her season total to 7 assists tying her for 1st overall in the PAC

Who's Next?
Franciscan will return home to take on Oberlin on Saturday at Trinity Health System Field at 2:00 p.m. The Barons are 0-1 all-time against the Yeowomen in women's soccer with the lone matchup coming last season. The Barons score first, as Bella Rubino would score the lone first half goal, but Oberlin netted a pair in the second half to win last season.
