How It HappenedÂ
Franciscan Women's Volleyball made the trip to Chatham for a Saturday night non-conference matchup against the Cougars. The Barons were unable tyo snap their recent skid, as their record is now 5-5 on the year after the three set loss in Pittsburgh.
Disselkamp and Antonelli got the Franciscan offense going with one kill apiece as the Barons trailed 4-7. The Barons would be able to tighten the gap to just two points at 7-9, but then the Cougars would begin to pull away, as they were the first to 15 points at 15-9.Rani Hebert would get going for the Barons, as she had a team high three kills in this set, but the Cougars woud pull away to win 25-16.Â
Elizabeth Luebbers would get Franciscan going in the second set, as she had two kills to set the score at 4-4. The score would be 6-6, and then the Cougars would score nine unanswered to set the score at 15-6. Luebbers would add two more kills to give her four this set, but the Cougars would prevail by a score of 25-12.
Luebbers would keep up the strong offensive play with three kills in Franciscan's first six points, as it would be tied at 6-6 in set three. Antonelli was also playing well this set with three kills in the early going to help the Barons take a 10-9 lead. The Cougars would respond with a 10-2 run that would put them in a seven point lead that they would not relinquish to win this set.Â

Who's Next?Â
Franciscan will return home to take on Waynesburg at home on Tuesday night. This game will be played at STEUBENVILLE HIGH SCHOOL - 420 N 4TH STREET STEUBENVILLE OHIO. This will be the third different home venue for the Barons this season, as Finnegan Fieldhouse has the floor being replaced still. Out of all PAC schools, Franciscan has had the most success against Waynesburg, as they hold an 11-2 edge over the years. Last season these two teams split in their pair of matchups. Franciscan won 3-2 in the first meeting. Renee Antonelli had 15 kills, and Sara Moore had 36 digs in the win.Â
