How It Happened
Franciscan Women's Volleyball has now won two in a row, as they defeated Pitt.-Greensburg on Tuesday night. The Barons won in three sets against the Bobcats in their first non-conference matchup against them after years of being in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference together.

Franciscan would take control of set one early, as Gracie Francis picked up a kill and Sara Moore had a service ace to get Franciscan a 7-2 edge. After a Bobcats timeout, Franciscan would tack on four more points in a row. Renee Antonelli and Elizabeth Luebbers would get their first kills of the night before Pitt.-Greensburg ended the run. Later in the set, Franciscan would have a 5-0 run to put the score at 16-5. Mary Updike had two service aces in this run to put some real separation between the Barons and the Bobcats. Rani Hebert and Gabrielle Disselkamp would join in on the action with kills later in the set, as a total team effort would result in Franciscan winning set one by a score of 25-11.

The Barons would keep the momentum on their side, as Grace Wallace would serve for nine straight points to start the second set. The setter, Wallace, even had a kill of her own in the early run. The Bobcats would respond though, as they cut into the lead quickly as the score would be 10-6. Luebbers would snap the Bobcats threat, as she added a big kill to spark Franciscan. The Barons would then go on a 4-0 run to be the first to 15 points and not look back from there. Disselkamp would get into quite a groove late in the set, as she led the way with three kills over Franciscan's final 10 points to close out the second set.

For the third straight set, Franciscan jumped out to an early lead, as they would lead by a score of 6-2. The Bobcats would be able to cut it to within one at 8-7 before Franciscan would take total control of the third set. Franciscan would go on a 4-0 run with a kill and ace from Hebert. After one Bobcat point on a Franciscan miscue, another 6-0 Baron run would ensue. Madison Fields grabbed her first kill of the game in that run. Natasha Rau, Madison Kozares, and Elizabeth Libel would come in for Franciscan to close the set out, as Kozares and Libel each had a kill. Barons would win the final set 25-16.
