How It HappenedÂ
Franciscan headed to Latrobe for a Tuesday evening PAC matchup with Saint Vincent. These two team meet last month with the Bearcats sweeping the Barons in a con-conference match. This game would be delayed 40 minutes due to Franciscan having bus troubles on the way, but that wouldn't hinder Franciscan from starting off well in the opening set.
The Barons would be the first to 15 at 15-11 with Disselkamp and Cadman each having a pair of kills. They would continue to lead the way for the offense, by extending the lead in route to a 25-17 first set win.Â
The Barons would stay hot to start the second set, as they built a 7-2 lead with four different players earning a kill. The Barons would maintain their lead for the entire set to take the second set in wire to wire fashion at 25-19.Â
The Bearcats would take their first lead of the night in the third set, as they took an early 4-1 edge.
Elizabeth Luebbers added a pair of kills to help the Barons tie it up at 6-6. It would be very much a back and forth set, as for the third straight set, the Barons would be the first to 15 at 15-14. The Bearcats would retake the lead at 18-17, but Franciscan would respond with a 3-1 run to retake the lead and all the momentum. Cadman would pickup two more kills down the stretch to continue her strong day, as the Barons close out the Bearcats 25-21.
