Barons Record Second Straight Shutout

Franciscan 1, Saint Vincent 0

Starting XI
Benjamin James, Kolbe RiceJoseph St. George, Augustine Rubino, Jonathan Schriner, Joshua Atkinson, Lucas Cross, Ryan Miller, Aidan Henninger, Anthony Venditti, & Goalkeeper Aiden Miller

How It Happened
It took 52 minutes, but Ryan Miller came through early in the second half to score the only goal of the match early in the second half. This was the second shutout performance for the Barons this week. What makes it truly amazing is they did it with two different goalies and tonight's win was on the back of an 8 save Aiden Miller performance. The win marks the third year in a row the Barons have had a double-digit win season with only four other seasons in school history prior to this stint.

Inside the Numbers
-Ryan Miller's game-winning goal is his 5th goal of the year
-Aiden Miller recorded his first career shutout
-The Barons hold steady at second place in the PAC

Who's Next?
Franciscan will return home for the final two regular season games of the 2023 season. Their next game will be on Wednesday, as they host the top team in the PAC, Geneva. The Barons are 3-12-2 all-time against the Golden Tornadoes. In the regular season last year, Geneva beat Franciscan 2-1, but they would meet again in the PAC Semifinals. In that match, Franciscan netted three second half goals to force extra time. There would be no goals in overtime, so we would go to a shutout. The Barons would score three times, as Jax Mautone would not allow any for the Barons to advance to the PAC Championship.
