Barons Battle Gators on the Road

How It Happened 
Franciscan Women's Volleyball made the trip up north to Allegheny College on Saturday afternoon to take on the Gators in a conference matchup. 

The Barons jumped out to an 8-2 lead which included a 6-0 run on Mary Jean Cadman's serve. The Gators rallied back to tie it up at 10-10 and go on to take the lead. Franciscan clawed back into this one to tie it up at 17-17 before an 8-1 run to close out the opening set. The Gators would jump out to the early lead in set two, as they had rolled their momentum into this set. Cadman had back to back kills, as the Barons looked to battled back into this one at 21-18, but then a 4-1 run would end the second set. The Barons would continue to battle in the third set, as it would be back and forth to start with a score of 13-12, Allegheny leading. The Gators would rally another run to close it out and take the match in three sets.

Inside the Numbers 
- Disselkamp led the way with six kills.
- 24 kills tied a season-low for the Barons.
- Sara Morre had 15 digs.
- Grace Wallace had 16 set assists.

Who's Next? 
Franciscan will make the trip to Chatham on Wednesday night to take on the Cougars. The Barons are 14-6 all-time against the Cougars, including a win last season. It took five sets last year, but the Barons would hold on to win after taking the first two sets. Renee Antonelli had 22 kills to lead the way fro Franciscan in the win. This season, the Cougars are one of the top teams in the conference, as they currently sit in second with just one PAC loss.
