Race Highlights
Franciscan Women's Cross Country made the trip north to Thiel for the 2023 PAC Championship on Saturday. The Barons would meet expectations from the Preseason Coaches' Poll as they placed 6th out of 11 teams.
Lauren Dosch continued her excellent freshman season with a sixth place finish in this field of 107 runners. She cut nearly 20 seconds off her previous best collegiate time for a 6K race which was from earlier this season on the same course.
Jessica Campbell would be next to finish with an 18th place finish at just under 24 minutes.
Rachel Hurley would not be too far behind her in 24th with a time of 24:12.16.
Clara Gross would set a new personal record time, as she posted a time of 25:16.25. That time would be over 50 seconds faster than her previous best.
Teresa Meli also shattered her personal best time with a 25:19.90 to be the fifth finisher for Franciscan.Â
The Barons would be one of six teams to have five finishers in the top 40, as it would be a very close team score breakdown. The Barons had 118 points to place sixth. Grove City took the Championship with 61 points, and the defending champions, Allegheny fell six points shy in second.Â

Up Next
Franciscan will now prepare for the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Meet on November 11th. This will be another return trip, as it will be ran at the same course that the Barons opened the season at for the Tommy Evans Invitational. The Barons will make the trip to Norton, Ohio, which will be their closest trip for a NCAA Regional Meet since 2011 when Oberlin hosted. The Men are slated to start at 11 am with the Women to follow at noon.
