Hebert Leads the Way Against Westminster

Franciscan 0, Westminster 3

Franciscan Starters
Gracie FrancisGabrielle Disselkamp Rani Hebert, Elizabeth Luebbers Grace Wallace, Mary Jean Cadman, & libero - Sara Moore

How It Happened
Franciscan would host Westminster for the first PAC conference match of the season on Wednesday evening at Finnegan Fieldhouse. These two teams met in the first game of the season in September with the Titans winning in three sets. Unfortunately, we had the same outcome today, but the Barons would battle in each set.

In the opening set, Hebert would get the offense going for the Barons with three kills in the early going. Westminster would make a big run to take a 23-14 lead in the opening set. Mary Jean Cadman snapped their run with three straight kills of her own, but then the Titans would be able to close it out 25-19.

The Barons took an early 6-4 lead in the second set, but then the Titans answered with a 4-0 run. They would be the first ti 15 at 15-10 before a 6-0 run would take this set out of reach. Tessa Miller and Cassidy McCollum started the third set, and they would each have kills to help Franciscan take an early 8-6 edge. The Titans would retake the lead at 12-11, and then would go on an 11-2 run. It would be looking bleak at 23-13, but the Barons would not quit. A 4-0 run with two kills from Hebert would get the Titans attention and force a timeout. They would add another 3-0 run until Westminster would find a kill to end the final set at 25-20.

Inside the Numbers
- Hebert led the Barons with 15.5 points, her fourth straight double-digit point performance.
- Sara Moore led the Barons with 22 digs.
- Grace Wallace had 31 set assists.
- The Titans had nine blocks to the Barons two.

Who's Next?
Franciscan will make the short trip to Geneva on Friday evening to take on the Golden Tornadoes. This will be their first matchup against them this season, as they are in search of their first win all-time against Geneva. The Golden Tornadoes were picked to finish 8th in the PAC from the Preseason Coaches' Poll, but they have played very well through non-conference play, as they held a winning record.
