How It HappenedÂ
Franciscan made the trip to Beaver Falls to take on Geneva on Friday evening for their second conference match of the season. Unfortunately, the Golden Tornadoes were able to defend their home court and pick up their first PAC win of the season.Â
The first set appeared to be all Geneva, as they would take a six-point lead at 15-9. The Barons would cut it to two at 16-14 thanks to a 4-0 run that had a pair of kills from Davis. Geneva would close it out though thanks to a 5-0 run late in the set.
The second set would be vert close with both teams making runs in the early going. The Barons would hold the lead for the majority of the set, as it looked like they were about to flip the momentum. With a lead of 22-20, the Golden Tornadoes would go on a 5-0 run to end the set and take a 2-0 lead.
The Barons would answer in the fourth, as they were the first to fifteen at 15-13. They expanded the lead to 19-15 with
Cassidy McCollum getting a pair of kills. The Barons would net let this lead slip away, as a 3-0 run would give the Barons the third set 25-23.Â
Geneva came out determined in set four, and they would start off the set with an 8-0 run.
Tessa Miller would finally snap that run with a kill for the Barons. Geneva would bring the lead back up to eight at 18-10 as they had all the momentum. The Barons though would dig deep and go on an 8-0 run of their own to tie this set back up at 18 all. After a Geneva service error, they would even take the lead at 22-21 for the first time in this set. Geneva though would answer with a 4-0 run, including three kills to take the mathc.Â

Who's Next?Â
Franciscan will return home for their final non-conference matchup of the year, as they take on King's College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. It will be Homecoming Saturday so come on out for a day full of activities in Steubenville. This will be the first time the Barons have played the Monarchs, who are coming from the eastern side of Pennsylvania. It should be a tough-test with them holding a winning record through a strong non-conference slate.Â
