How It Happened
Franciscan baseball opened the season at Hood College a day later than expected with a better forecast for Sunday. They would play a pair of seven inning games.

The first game was an old-fashioned pitchers duel with Franciscan coming out on top. The Barons would get two runners on base in the second and fourth innings but not be able to get on the board. Thankfully, Jacob Watson was stellar, as he scattered two hits over seven strong innings.

In the top of the seventh, Peter Falconite led off with a single. Then Anthony Franzonello would get hit by a pitch. Coach Rick Carver would then ask Samuel Tyler to get the sacrifice down with no out, and he did. David Ferroni would then get the fly ball to score Falconite on a sacrifice fly for the lone run of the game.

At the Plate
- Kyle Ferrance went 3-3 with the lone extra-base hit for the Barons.
- The Barons struck out twice and walked twice

On the Mound
- Starter Jacob Watson pitched seven stellar innings with two strikeouts and a walk.
- He just faced 23 batters while using less than 90 pitches to secure his first win of the season.

The Blazers would then get a pair of runs off of Dominic Brandi in the third to end his day. They would keep up the offensive attack by scoring five more runs over the next wo innings to hold a 7-2 lead.

In the sixth, Kyle Ferrnace would lead off with a walk, and then Jacob Watson would show off his bat with an RBI double to right field. The Blazers would tack on two more runs in the bottom of the inning before shutting the door in the seventh.
