How It Happened
Franciscan baseball jumped out to an early lead, as they put up a crooked number in the first inning. Froman reached on an error, and Falconite singled. After moving up 90 feet on a wild pitch,
Brendan Burke got the job done with a ground out to third to score Froman. Falconite would then score on a passed ball, and
Wade Stoehr scored the same way later in the inning to give Franciscan a 3-0 lead.
Earlham responded in the second inning with five runs coming with two outs. A three-run home run by Jeffries was the big swing in this inning. The Barons would get one back in the third inning, as
Kyle Ferrance doubled in
Brendan Burke. Earlham would respond once again with another two-out three-run homer in the fourth to grow their lead to 8-4. They would grow it once again in the fith to 12-4.
The Barons entered the bottom of the seventh trailig 17-5, but they would not show any quit. They got a rally going off the bat with the first three batters loading up the bases.
Ryan Scavnicky would deliver a two-RBI double, and then a wild pitch would score the third run of the inning.After two flyouts, Ferroni singled in Scavnivky before the final out was recorded.
At the Plate

How It Happened
Franciscan would not get the bats going in the second game of the doubleheader. Dillon Fischer for Earlham would pitch a complete game gem while just allowing the Barons to have a handful of hits and no runs scored.

Franciscan will get right back after it on Friday, as they conclude their spring break trip with a pair of games against Washington College (Md.) They hold an 0-3 record all-time against them. Last season, they dropped in a pair of close ones by scores of 1-3 and 2-6. The Shoreman hold a 5-7 record so far this season, including a 2-1 mark in Florida this week.
