Highlights for the Women
- Claire Walters ran the 1500m for the first time this outdoor season, and she would win in the field of 76 runners with a time of 4:49.67. That time is the second fastest in program history, just two seconds off the record. Rachel Hurley placed 32nd with a time of 5:24.99, and Angelina Toole placed 52nd.
- Victoria Unnerstall placed 34th with a time of 30.17 in the 200m.
- Jianna Hanson posted a time of 1:07.83 to place 15th in the 400m dash, with Unnerstall right on her heels in 16th place.
- Jessica Campbell had a podium finish in the 800m, as she placed fourth with a time of 2:28.12. Anne O'Boyle place 25th.Â
- Clara Gross and Emma O'Keefe placed 11th and 12th in the 5000m run.Â
- Clara Symington placed second while improving her collegiate-best time in the 400m hurdles. She ran a time of 1:12.13.
- Brigid Mack continued to show improvement in the discus, as she placed second with a best throw of 40.68m. That would be the second-best throw of her career.Â
Highlights for the Men
- In the 200m, Joseph Rohde broke his own school record with a time of 22.42 seconds to place fifth. Dwayne Gethard placed 19th.
- Rohde also reached the podium in the 400m dash with a fifth-place finish. Gethard placed 20th.
- Through the winds, Conal Delaney set a new personal record time in the 1500m. He ran the event in a time of 4:17.98 to place 28th out of 73 runners. Nathaniel Tokarsky, Andrew Madigan, and Francis Langley also ran in the event with Tokarsky taking home a 46th-place finish.
- David Di Nardo placed 6th with a time of 16:07.56 in the 5000m run. David Cappello also ran in this longer event to a 14th-place finish.Â
- Charles Jardine was the best thrower in shot put for Franciscan today, as he placed 31st with a throw of 10.76m. Tyson Smith placed 43rd.
- Isaac Turner had a best javelin throw of 37.59m to place 24th out of 34 athletes in these windy conditions.Â
Up Next
The Barons will have a rare, mid-week meet next Wednesday, as they compete before Easter break. They will travel to Grove City to take place in their invitational with several other PAC schools there to take place in this meet.
