Barons move up in PAC standings late in the year with strong performances at Ashland and Baldwin Wallace
The Barons ran in meets over back-to-back weekends to prepare for the PAC Outdoor Championships. They had some incredible performances over those weeks with many PR's, a few Barons that have moved into the top 5 in the PAC, and one individual making national lists.
Highlights from the Spark Adams Invitational
- Andrew Menck ran a wind assisted time in the 200m of 22.09 a PR that is faster than the current SR
- Freshman Maxwell Bruns set PR times in the 5k and 1500. He is currently sitting 3rd in the PAC with his 5k time of 15:13.10
- Micah Bragg set a PR in the 10k with a time of 33:49.28
- Joseph Rohde was enjoying the spotlight running a PR in the 800m of 1:58.82 breaking into the top 8 in the PAC and placing 1st in the 400m with a time of 47.81. That is a SR and he is the poll sitter heading into the PAC Championships
- John Sicree ran his best 400m Hurdle time of 57.39 and is now sitting 2nd in the PAC
- All of the Franciscan 5k runners had great performances with PRs from; Emily Maag, Katherine Ptak, Teresa Meli, and Anna Steimle
- Lauren Dosch ran a season best time in the 400m to break into the top 5 of the PAC
Highlights from Ashland Alumni Open
Notable Barons Sitting atop PAC standings
- Joseph Rohde is 1st in the PAC in the 400m and 7th in the 800m. His 400m time has fallen out of the nations top 22. He is currently 30th in the nation and will need to find 0.4 secs to jump back into the Nationals conversation
- Menck is 7th in the PAC in the 200m
- Bruns is 6th in the 1500m and 3rd in the 5k
- Bragg is 7th in the 10k and 5th in the steeplechase
- Sicree is 2nd in the 400m HurdlesÂ
- Seamus Sommers is 3rd in the steeplechase
- Daniel wilson is 7th in the steeplechase
- the men's 4x400 relay team is 5th in the PAC
- AJ Gates is 5th in Pole Vault
- Nicholas Brass is 6th in Shot Put
- Dosch is 4th in the 400m and 5th in the 800m
- Teresa Meli, Clara Gross, & Isabella Barnett are 5th, 7th, & 8th respectively
- Meli is 4th in the steeplechase
- the women's 4x400m relay team is ranked 3rd

Up Next
The Barons look forward to the PAC Outdoor Championships that span over two days from Thursday, April 30th & Friday, May 1st. Both the men's and women's teams have been picked to finish 8th (based on PAC coaches voting). Notable changes to watch are to both the men's and women's 4x400m relay teams. Both teams have an athlete that improved their 400m time and have jumped onto the team just before the Championships.
