Short Story:Â Barons set multiple PR's and SR's
Results
The Barons traveled to Bucknell University in one of the largest outdoor invitationals of the year. This invitational had schools from all conferences ranging from large Division I teams to small Division III teams. It was an incredible opportunity for our runners to pace themselves and compete against Division I opponents.
Highlights for the Women
- Lauren Dosch ran a little behind her PR time in the 400 placing 51st with a time of 1:00.75
- Dosch had a near identical placement in the 800m run finishing 52nd with a time of 216.92
- Emily Maag led the Barons in the mile setting a PR with a time of 5:20.27 finishing just shy of a podium at 11th overall
- Both Maag and Katherine Ptak had great performances in the 3000m. Each of them ran an 11:20 good enough for 16th and 17th respectively.
Highlights for the Men
- Andrew Menck set a PR in the 100m with a time of 11.02 placing him 19th
- Menck also set a PR in the 200m with a time of 22.09
- Both of Menck's times were school records in addition to his personal bests
- Max Bruns led the Barons mile team placing 11th with a PR time of 4:24.29Â
- Bruns finished 7th in the 3000m with a time of 9:01.86
- Last and by far the most exciting event of the day was Joseph Rohde in the 400m. Rohde obliterated his PR time, set a new school record, and WON the 400m event. He ran a 47.81. The only runner sub 48, beating out runners from Yale, Pittsburgh, RIT, and Bucknell. His time is a PR, SR, and currently good enough for 19th in the nation.
Up Next
The entire Baron squad will head to Ashland University for the Ashland Alumni Open. This will be their last meet to set seeding times before the PAC Outdoor Championship
