How It HappenedÂ
Franciscan Men's Lacrosse made the trip up north to Thiel on Wednesday evening for a pivotal, PAC matchup. Action would be back and forth through three quarters, until the Tomcats pulled away with a big fourth quarter.Â
The Barons would get on the board first, as Samuel Marshall found the back of the net just two minutes into this one. After a pair of goals from the Tomcats, Gavin Cook would score a buzzer beating goal to end the first quarter at a score of 2-2.Â
Thiel would start off the second quarter with a pair of goals to give them their largest lead of the day thus far at 4-2. Alexander Dhabliwala would cut it to within one with his first goal of the day. After a Thiel goal, Marshall and Cook would grab their second goals of the day to tie it up at five apiece. Thiel would score a late goal to take a one goal lead into halftime. Through thirty minutes of play, the Tomcats had out-shot Barons 30-15, but Fabian Onativia and the Barons defense stepped up to keep this one a close battle.Â
Ricahrd Vale II got the offense going in the second half with a quick goal right out of a faceoff won by Jeofre Strandhagen. Samuel Marshal would keep it up with his third goal of the night to give Franciscan a 7-6 edge. Unfortunately that would be it for the Barons' offense, as Thiel would score six unanswered to take this one by a score of 12-7.Â

Up NextÂ
Franciscan was supposed to travel to Washington & Jefferson on Saturday, but with them canceling their season, they will have the weekend off from competition. They will return to action at Hilbert on Wednesday. The Barons make the journey to Hilbert for the first time since 2017 to face their former conference foe. Franciscan holds an 0-3 record all-time against Hilbert, as they look to secure their first win against them next week.
