How It Happened
The Barons made the trip to Chatham after their matchup was rescheduled from last Saturday to Tuesday afternoon in Pittsburgh.
Starter
Jeremy Sagun would get hold the Chatham bats in check for the first couple innings, but then the Cougars would score three in the third. Two more runs in the fifth would lead to Coach
Rick Carver using the bullpen. A couple of errors led to several unearned runs which would lead to this game being done after seven innings.
At the Plate
- The Barons had four hits, two coming from Falconite.

Brendan Burke got one hit to extend his streak to 13 straight games.
On the Mound
- Starter
Jeremy Sagun pitched 4.1 innings while striking out four and giving up four earned runs.

Brody Hynes and
Andrew Heidemann cleaned up the rest with only one earned run between them.

How It Happened
Game two had the Cougars jump out to a 3-0 lead, but then the Baron bats would respond in the fourth inning.
Kyle Ferrance would hit a leadoff double, and then
Matthew Gambrel would knock him in on a single. Stoehr would record the first out of the inning on a groundout, but it would score Gambrel from third. Then with two out,
Peter Falconite would tie it up at three by driving in
Jacob Watson.
Starter
Jesse Izzo would pitch into the fifth, but that is where he would run into some trouble. The Cougars would be able to take a 7-3 lead. In the seventh, they would score six runs off the bullpen to end this one with the score at 13-3.
At the Plate
- Burke and Tyler each had two hits.
- Gambrel registers his first hit after missing nearly a month with injury.
On the Mound
- Starter
Jesse Izzo struck out a pair over 4+ innings.

Joseph Hurlbert pitched a clean inning of relief.
Up Next
The Barons will continue their busy week, as they host Bethany for a conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon. Franciscan is 3-8 all-time against Bethany with the Bison winning the last three matchups. Franciscan swept the Bison at their place in 2021, but they have not beat them in Steubenville since 2011.
