How It Happened
The Barons returned home to take on the Bethany Bison on Wednesday afternoon. Fans would be in store for a high scoring thriller

Both teams would get runners aboard in the first, but they would not be able to get a run across. The Bison would string a couple hits together in the top of the second to get on the board first with a pair of runs. The Bison would add another pair in the third, but then Franciscan would answer in the fourth. Ferroni drove in Kyle Ferrance on a groundout to give two outs and set the score at 4-1. Samuel Tyler delivered an RBI double though to give Franciscan another run. Watson would keep eating innings, as he continued to pitch into the sixth inning. The Bison would string a couple hard hit balls together in the sixth to score another two run and stretch the lead up to 6-2.

Franciscan would rally in the home half of the sixth. They would load the bases full for David Ferroni. He would continue his impressive day with a triple to right that would score three runners. Then Samuel Tyler would hit a sharp grounder to first, and Ferroni would beat the throw home to tie this one at 6-6. The bench would go wild, as the Barons clearly had all the momentum on their side Scavnicky would give the Barons a lead with an opposite field single that would score Tyler.

The Barons would go to the bullpen as Charlie Sabol entered the game to pitch the seventh inning. The Bison would get after the bullpen with a four spot to retake the lead at 10-7 and take the momentum back in this one. The Barons would answer in the bottom half of the inning. An error, hit and walk would load the bases for David Ferroni. He would ground into a double play but that would score. Tyler would rip a single to left to score Stoehr from second and set the score at 10-9.

That would take us to the eighth inning. The Bison bats would not relent, as they added four more runs in the top half of the inning to set the score at 14-9. The Barons would enter the ninth down by six, but they would have one more run in them. They would load the bases once more, and then Ferroni would drive in Izzo. Tyler would drive in another but on a double play that would neutralize the threat. Barons fell 15-11.

How It Happened
Game two had a similar back and forth start with Franciscan getting on the board first. In the bottom of the second, Ferroni would keep up his success from game one. He drove in Stoehr on a double to center field. The Bison would erase that deficit in the third inning, as they earned two runs of their own. It would not take long for the Barons to answer. Burke would get it started in the bottom of the third with an RBI single. Stoehr and Watson would do the same to give the Barons a 4-2 lead. Ferroni would then knock in Ferrance on an error by the left fielder to set the score at 5-2 through three innings.

A couple big swings would give Franciscan some insurance runs. In the fourth, Stoehr doubled in a pair of Barons, and in the fifth, Burke drove in a pair on a hot shot single to left. The score would hold at 9-2 until the seventh where they would add on again. Brendan Burke ripped a laser double to left center to drive in one, and then Robb drove him in the next at bat. The Barons would take the 11-2 lead into the eighth.

Jonathan Perez would end his day in the eighth after an amazing relief outing today. The Barons would go to their third pitcher with Dominic Brandi. The Bison would get some two, out magic going with four runs that would lead to a pitching change with Wade Stoehr taking the ball. He would get the final out to send us to the bottom of the eight with a five run lead. That hold as our final score for Franciscan to earn a split of the PAC doubleheader.
